BEEF-RICE CASSEROLE 
1 lb. ground beef
2 tbsp. shortening
2 med. onions, chopped
2 c. mushroom soup
2 c. cream of chicken soup
1 1/2 c. water
1/2 c. uncooked rice
1/4 c. soy sauce
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 c. bean sprouts (drained)
1 can chow mein noodles

Brown meat, onions and celery. Add remaining ingredients (except noodles). Bake in greased casserole, covered, 40 minutes at 250 degrees.

Remove cover, sprinkle noodles and brown 10 minutes more. Bread crumbs drizzled in butter may be substituted for noodles.
