BACON-ONION BRUNCH PUFF 
1/2 lb. bacon, can be less
2 med. onion, sliced
8 slices white bread, quartered
1/2 lb. Swiss cheese, shredded
4 eggs
2 c. milk
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Cook bacon until crisp; remove from pan. Cook onion in bacon drippings until soft. Spread 1/2 of the bread in the bottom of a grease 9 x 9 inch or smaller size baking pan. Sprinkle with half of the bacon, crumbled, onion and cheese. Repeat layers. Combine egg, milk, salt, and pepper. Pour over top layer in pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes until soft and puffed. Can be prepared ahead and refrigerated. Makes 8 servings.
