HOMEMADE APPLE DUMPLINGS 
Filling:

1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 c. butter
6 large chopped apples
2 c. water

Combine 1 c. sugar, spices and 2 c. water. Boil for 5 minutes. Add butter. Remove from heat and let sit.

Dough:

2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. solid shortening
1/2 c. milk

Mix dough and roll out. Spread chopped apples and 1 c. sugar on dough. Roll this up like a jelly roll. Slice and place in a baking pan. Pour sauce over and bake at 350°F for 1 hour.
