BATTER:

3/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. water
1/2 c. sugar
1/3 c. shortening (butter)
1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. coarsely chopped walnuts
4 tbsp. bourbon

MINT FROSTING:

1/2 c. soft butter
Green coloring and mint extract (optional)
2 c. sifted powdered sugar

CHOCOLATE GLAZE:

3 tbsp. vegetable shortening
1 (6 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate pieces

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt and set aside. Combine water, sugar and shortening. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate pieces and vanilla. Beat until smooth.

Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add flour mixture and nuts. Spread in greased 7x11 inch pan. Bake in moderately slow 325 degree oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle with bourbon while hot. Cool.

To make frosting, cream butter and add coloring and extract, if desired. Add sugar gradually. Spread over cooled brownies.

To make glaze, melt shortening and chocolate pieces over hot water. Spread over mint frosting. Cool before cutting into small squares.
