1 c. green peas
1/2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. cornstarch
2 tbsp. butter
1/4 tsp. black pepper

Heat peas to boiling. Mix sugar, salt and cornstarch with milk. Pour into peas, stirring until it thickens. Dust with black pepper and serve with mashed potatoes.
