PETER PANIC BUTTONS 
1 c. crunchy peanut butter
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. (firmly packed) brown sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
5 doz. candy-coated chocolate

Cream the peanut butter and butter in a bowl. Add sugars gradually and cream until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla and egg and beat well. Sift the flour with soda, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture and mix thoroughly. Chill dough if necessary.

Shape into balls, using a heaping teaspoon for each and place on cookie sheet. Bake in 375 degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Top each cookie with a candy-coated chocolate and cool on racks.
