GRANDMA'S BACHELOR BUTTON
COOKIES
 
3/4 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix all together and take about 1 tablespoon of dough for each cookie. Shape into a ball and very lightly roll in sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet about 2" apart and press with a fork in 2 directions. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.

This is a fantastic cookie and is wonderfully cinnamon-ny! My recipe is the same and I've been making it for years except that mine says to refrigerate the dough for several hours or overnight and it does make it easier to roll the dough into the balls if it's cold. Make the balls small so they bake quickly and stay soft. Enjoy!
