SLICED ALMOND COOKIES 
1 c. dark brown sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs, beaten
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. baking powder
1/3 c. oil
3 c. flour
1/4 c. warm water
2 c. toasted & chopped almonds

Cut each almond into 3 pieces. Mix top 7 ingredients. Add flour, nuts and warm water. Divide dough into 5 equal parts. Roll out like a rope, long enough to fit on cookie sheet. Do not flatten. Brush top with beaten egg. Bake at 325 degrees for 25 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes. Cut with sharp knife.
