1 c. corn meal
2/3 c. flour
2 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
sweet milk
1 small onion, chopped fine

Mix all ingredients using enough milk to make mixture smooth. Drop mixture by spoonfuls into deep fat (380°F) or oil. Cook until golden brown. Drain and serve.
