APPLESAUCE MUFFINS 
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
2/3 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 c. oatmeal
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. applesauce
1/3 c. oil
2 eggs
1/2 c. chopped dates or raisins
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Thoroughly combine flour, brown sugar, oats, salt, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and nutmeg. Next combine applesauce, oil, eggs, dates and walnuts; add to flour mixture and blend.

Fill muffin cups approximately 2/3 full. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 20 minutes.
