PERFECT CARAMEL CORN 
5 qts. popped corn
1 c. butter (no substitute)
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. dark corn syrup
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Place popped corn in large roasting pan or large bowl. Combine the butter, salt, brown sugar and corn syrup and boil exactly 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Pour syrup over corn and mix well. Spread popcorn onto a cookie sheet and bake for 1 hour at 200 degrees, stirring several times. Spread on wax paper or cut up paper bag to cool. Peanuts may be mixed in with syrup.
