CHOCOLATE CAKE 
CAKE:

2 c. sifted flour
1 1/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. powdered cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. baking soda
1 egg
2/3 c. vegetable oil
1 c. buttermilk (sour milk)
1 c. strong coffee

FROSTING:

3 tbsp. butter
2 oz. unsweetened chocolate, melted
3 c. powdered sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2-3 tbsp. milk or coffee

Sift dry ingredients and place in large bowl. Add egg, oil and buttermilk or sour milk. Mix well. Add coffee; blend again. Pour into 2 round or 1 (9"x13") pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool and frost with above frosting.

FROSTING: Mix butter and melted chocolate. Add sugar, vanilla, milk or coffee. Beat until smooth and spreadable.
