CARAMEL PUDDING 
1 c. brown sugar
4 slices buttered bread
2 eggs
2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Place brown sugar in a double boiler. Add the 4 slices buttered bread, diced. Do not stir! Beat 2 eggs with a fork, add 2 cups milk, salt and vanilla. Pour this mixture over the bread and sugar. Do not stir!

Cover and cook for 1 hour. Or place pan or baking dish in water, cover and bake in 350 degree oven. Run knife around edge, turn out in serving dish. May use ice cream, Cool Whip or serve plain.
