ITALIAN CREAM CAKE 
1 stick butter
1/2 c. oil
2 c. sugar
5 egg yolks
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. lemon flavoring
1/2 c. nuts (good with black walnuts)
1 1/4 c. coconut (opt.)
5 egg whites, beaten stiff

Cream butter and oil; add sugar. Beat until smooth. Add egg yolks. Beat. Combine flour, soda and add to cream mix alternately with buttermilk. Add flavoring, coconut and nuts. Fold in beaten egg whites. Bake in greased and floured 3 (8") pans at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.

FROSTING:

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 stick butter
1 c. powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. lemon flavoring
1/2 c. nuts
