HOT WATER CHOCOLATE CAKE 
2/3 c. shortening
2 c. white sugar
2 lg. eggs
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 2/3 c. flour
2 c. hot water
8 tbsp. cocoa
2 tsp. baking powder

Cream shortening. Add sugar and eggs. Put water in pan and bring to a boil. Add the cocoa and stir until all mixed and add to first mixture alternately with flour, soda, salt and baking powder. Put in 9 x 13 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
