PEANUT BUTTER PIE 
1 (9 inch) pie shell (baked)
1/2 c. chunky peanut butter
2/3 c. sugar
2 c. scalded milk
2 tbsp. butter
3 egg whites for meringue
1 c. powdered sugar
1/4 c. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. salt
3 lg. egg yolks, beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Combine powdered sugar and peanut butter until crumbly. Spread about 3/4 of mixture on bottom of pie shell.

Combine cornstarch, sugar and salt. Add scalded milk and mix well. Pour small amount over beaten egg yolks then return to milk mixture. Cook until mixture thickens. Add butter and vanilla. Pour in pie shell.

Make meringue with a little sugar and sprinkle remaining crumbs on top. Bake at 325 degrees until brown.
