CHOCOLATE CHERRY DROPS 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. unsweetened cocoa
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. flour
Maraschino cherries

Cream together butter and sugar. Add egg and vanilla. In a separate bowl mix cocoa, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Mix together then add to butter mixture. Stir in flour. Roll in 1" balls. Place 2" apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Press thumb in center of each. Put 1 maraschino cherry in each thumbprint (1/2 cherry if they are large). Cover thumbprint and cherry with 1/2 teaspoon frosting (below). Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

FROSTING FOR DOUBLE BATCH:

12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. sweetened condensed milk
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cherry juice

Melt in double boiler.
