APPLE COBBLER 
8 med. apples
1 c. sugar
1/4 lb. melted butter
1/4 c. water
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. brown sugar

BATTER:

1 c. sugar
3/4 c. self-rising flour
3/4 c. milk
1/4 tsp. cinnamon

Peel, core and slice apples. Boil in 1/4 cup water, 1 cup sugar and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon until tender. Melt 1/4 pound butter in 2 quart casserole dish in oven while preheating.

Mix batter: 1 cup sugar, 3/4 cup milk and 3/4 cup self-rising flour. Pour batter into melted butter, do not stir. Spoon apples over top of batter. Crumble brown sugar and butter on top. Bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees.
