APPLESAUCE DOUGHNUT DESSERT 
1/2 doz. plain doughnuts
2 c. applesauce
2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. chopped nuts

Slice doughnuts in half horizontally, place some of the applesauce between halves and arrange filled doughnuts in a shallow pan. Fill the center and partially cover top of each doughnut with remaining applesauce. Combine sugar, cinnamon and nuts and sprinkle over tops. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes. Serve with whipped cream.
