MARGARET'S APPLESAUCE MUFFINS 
2 sticks soft butter
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

4 c. plain flour
1 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. allspice
3 tsp. cinnamon

1 c. chopped pecans

1 (16 oz.) can applesauce
2 tsp. baking soda

Using a heavy mixing spoon, blend all the above ingredients. The batter is stiff so stir until well blended. Pour batter into covered container and store in refrigerator. Use as needed. To use, spoon into greased muffin tin, filling cups 1/2 full. Bake at 400 degrees for 12-15 minutes.

(Batter keeps quite some time in refrigerator.)
