CHERRY WINKS 
2 1/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts
1/3 c. chopped cherries
2 1/2 c. cornflakes, crushed

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside. Mix shortening and sugar until creamy, then blend in eggs, milk and vanilla. Add dry ingredients; mix well. Add nuts and cherries; mix well. Shape in balls using level teaspoon of dough for each cookie. Roll each ball in cornflakes, crushed. Bake on greased sheet. Top each one with 1/4 cherry. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Do Not Stack Or Store Until Cold. Makes 3 dozen.
