BUTTERSCOTCH PIE 
1 1/4 c. boiling water
1/2 c. water
3 eggs
1 1/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 stick butter
3 heaping tbsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix brown sugar and cornstarch with 1/2 cup water in saucepan. Add egg yolks, saving the whites for meringue. Mix well and add boiling water. Cook over medium heat until thickens. (Stir to keep from burning.) Remove and add butter and vanilla. Pour into baked shell and add meringue. (For meringue use recipe using egg whites, sugar and cream of tartar.)
