SAWMILL GRAVY 
1/4 c. oil or shortening
1/2 c. plain flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. water
1/2 c. milk

Pour oil in skillet, heat, put in salt, stir, then pour in flour, stirring until brown. Add water, bring to full boil, add milk, bring to full boil again, stirring continually until thickens. If too thick, thin with water. Serve with biscuits.
