CARAMEL BROWNIES 
40 Kraft caramels
2/3 c. evaporated milk
3/4 c. melted butter
1 c. chopped nuts, optional
1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
6 oz. pkg. chocolate chips

1. Melt together unwrapped caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk over low heat in a saucepan until smooth.

2. Mix together in large bowl the 3/4 cup melted butter, 1/3 cup evaporated milk, 1 package dry German chocolate cake mix and 1 cup chopped nuts (if wanted).

3. Spread 1/2 of cake mixture in bottom of 9 x 13 inch buttered pan. Bake 6 minutes at 350 degrees.

4. Sprinkle on top 6 ounce package chocolate chips. Pour caramel mixture over chips. Sprinkle remaining cake mixture on top.

5. Bake 16-18 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool before cutting. Keeps and stores well.
