GRANDMA MCCLUNG'S PECAN PIE | |
My mother-in-law made this pie and it is delicious! Not as super sweet as our original Southern pecan pie, but just right. 1 pkg. pie crusts (Pillsbury) 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted 3/4 cup sugar 3 eggs (beaten well) 1 tbsp. vinegar 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 cup crushed pecans pecan halves, for decoration Note: Toasting the pecans in preheated oven makes a wonderful difference. Preheat oven to 350°F. Use only regular pie crust not deep dish. Melt butter, beat in sugar and eggs. Add vanilla, vinegar and crushed pecans. Repeat to make second pie, do not double recipe. Put halved pecans on top in a circular design. Bake at 350°F for 35 to 40 minutes until golden brown and knife inserted in center comes out clean. Makes 2 pies. Submitted by: Judy McClung |
