OLD TYME BAKED RICE PUDDING 
4 c. whole milk
6 tbsp. sugar
7 tbsp. long grain rice
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. moist raisins
Cinnamon and milk or cream for topping

Bring milk to the boiling point; add sugar, rice, butter, and salt. Transfer to buttered 1 1/2 quart baking dish. Bake in oven at 350 degrees for 1 to 1 1/2 hours; stir occasionally. When milk is absorbed, stir again, adding raisins and bake for 5 more minutes. Serve hot or cold with cinnamon, milk or cream. Serves 4-6.
