CHARLOTTE'S CHILI | |
3 lbs. ground chuck 3/4 c. chopped onion 1 (15 oz.) can dark kidney beans 1 (29 oz.) can tomato sauce 1 (5 1/2 oz.) can tomato juice 1 tbsp. sugar 1 pkg. chili-o-mix 3 tbsp. chili powder 1 can stewed tomatoes 3 c. water Salt and pepper to taste Brown together in a large 8-quart pot the ground chuck, onions, salt, and pepper. Stir in chili-o-mix. Add tomato sauce, kidney beans, tomato juice, stewed tomatoes, and water. Stirring thoroughly, add salt and pepper again to taste. Add sugar and chili powder; stir. Bring to boil and simmer on low heat for a good hour. Makes approximately 1 1/2 gallons. |
