BROWN FARMHOUSE SCONES 
2 oz. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 caster sugar
2 oz. butter
6 oz. wholemeal flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 gill milk

Sift flour, salt and sugar into a basin. Rub in fat. Stir in wholemeal flour and baking powder. Mix well and then add milk, using more if required to make a soft dough. Knead lightly into a flat round on a lightly floured board. Place on a greased baking sheet. Bake in hot oven 450 degrees for about 1/2 hour. When nearly cooked, break triangles apart.
