CANDY CANE COOKIES 
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. shortening
1/2 c. confectioners' sugar
1/2 egg
3/4 tsp. almond extract
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. flour
Drop of red food color

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Mix first 6 ingredients. Blend in flour. Divide dough in half. Place half of dough in another bowl, add red color. Shape dough into ropes. Twist together and make into candy canes. Bake 9 minutes.
