BANANA SPLIT CAKE 
(Best when prepared the day before.)

CRUST:

1 box vanilla wafers, crushed
1 stick butter, melted

Mix and press in bottom of oblong cake pan.

FILLING:

2 c. powdered sugar
1 stick butter
2 egg whites, beaten
8 oz. cream cheese, softened

Mix sugar and butter well; beat whites until stiff; stir in sugar mixture along with cream cheese. Pour this over crust.

TOPPING:

Layer the following on top of filling:

4 bananas, sliced
1 (18 oz.) can crushed pineapple, drained
1 lg. carton Cool Whip
Whole or crushed maraschino cherries
Nuts

Chill well.
