DATE NUT BARS 
3 eggs, well beaten
1 cup honey
shredded peel of 1 lemon
1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 lb. dates, pitted, sliced
1 cup chopped nuts
confectioners' sugar, for sprinkling

Preheat oven to 325°F.

Combine eggs, honey and shredded peel. Add sifted dry ingredients, dates, and nuts. Pour into a greased (9x13x2-inch) baking pan.

Bake at 325°F for 40 to 45 minutes.

Cool and sprinkle with confectioners' sugar. Cut into bars.

Makes 36 (1x3-inch) bars.
