1 c. butter 1/2 c. brown sugar 2 egg yolks 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. nut meats, ground Mix thoroughly butter, sugar, egg yolks, and vanilla. Sift together and add flour and salt. Cool for an hour or so. Roll into small balls, dip into whipped egg whites. Roll in chopped nuts. Lay lightly on greased pan and bake at 375 degree oven. After 5 minutes, press your thumb into cookie and bake about 8-10 minutes more or until done. You can put a candied cherry in the center, jelly or decorate with powdered sugar frosting. Makes about 3 dozen. |
