ORIGINAL TOLL HOUSE COOKIES 
2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. water
2 eggs
12 oz. chocolate chips
1 c. nuts, coarsely chopped

Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl. In a large bowl, cream butter, shortening, sugars, vanilla, and water until creamy. Beat in eggs. Add flour mixture, stirring well. Add chips and nuts. Drop dough by well rounded 1/2 teaspoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 375 degrees.
