OLD FASHIONED TEA CAKES 
2 c. sugar
1 c. lard and butter, mixed
1/2 c. buttermilk
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla

For crispness add 1/2 cup more sugar. Mix with plain flour to soft dough. Roll 1/4 inch thick. Bake at 350 degrees.
