CRUNCHIE BALLS 
1/2 c. butter, melted
1 egg, beaten
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. dates, cut up
Dash of salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. Rice Krispies
1/2 c. coconut or nuts

Boil first 5 ingredients over low heat until dates are thick and cooked. Remove from heat. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla and Rice Krispies. Mix and let cool to handle. Roll into small balls. Roll in coconut or nuts.
