1 1/2 c. sifted flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt

Sift dry ingredients together. Mix and add to dry ingredients: 1 egg 1/4 c. melted butter

Add 1 1/2 cups tart apples, diced. Pour into 8" square pan.

TOPPING:

1/4 c. sugar
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Sprinkle over top of batter and drip 1 tablespoon melted butter over top. Add 1/4 cup chopped nuts, if desired. Bake at 350 degrees.
