PUMPKIN BROWNIES 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2/3 c. pumpkin
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/3 c. cocoa
1 c. flour

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs. Beat until light. Add pumpkin and mix well. Sift remaining ingredients and add to pumpkin mix. Spread in a greased 8x8 inch pan. Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 40 minutes. Cool and frost.

FROSTING:

2 c. confectioners' sugar
2 tbsp. milk
1/3 c. cocoa
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix all ingredients and spread on cooled brownies.
