SALLY ANN MOLASSES COOKIES | |
1 c. butter 1 c. sugar 1/2 c. dark corn syrup 1/2 c. molasses 4 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. ginger 2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. cloves 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1 tsp. salt 1 c. buttermilk 5 c. sifted flour (or more, enough to roll thick) Mix together butter, sugar, syrup and molasses. Sift together flour, soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and salt. Alternate flour mixture and buttermilk and combine into butter and sugar. Roll out quite thick. Bake at 375 degrees for about 10 minutes. Do not over bake, they are best if soft. Frost with powdered sugar, butter and vanilla frosting. Makes about 8 dozen cookies. |
