HEAVENLY CHOCOLATE PIE ON A
MERINGUE CLOUD CRUST
 
2 egg whites
1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. pecans
12 oz. chocolate chips
6 tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 pt. whipping cream

Beat egg whites, cream of tartar, and salt until very stiff. Add sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and pecans. Spread in greased 9 1/2 inch pie plate and bake 55 minutes at 300 degrees. Cool.

Melt chocolate chips in 6 tablespoons water. Let cool. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla and the whipping cream whipped. Mix gently and fill crust. Place in refrigerator for 2 hours.
