2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2 egg whites

Cream sugar and butter, add baking powder to flour then mix alternately with milk. Fold in beaten whites last. Bake in a slow oven for 50 minutes.

FILLING:

2 egg yolks, slightly beaten
2 tbsp. strong coffee
Powdered sugar

Mix egg yolks and coffee. Stir in powdered sugar until quite thick and smooth.
