HOT GERMAN POTATO SALAD | |
6 potatoes 6 slices bacon 3/4 c. onion 2 tbsp. flour 1 1/2 tbsp. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. celery seed Dash of pepper 1/3 c. vinegar Boil 6 potatoes and dice. Fry 6 slices of bacon; remove bacon and add onion to bacon fat. Blend in 2 tablespoons flour, sugar, salt, celery seed and pepper when onion is soft. Cook over low heat. Stir until smooth and bubbly. Remove from heat and stir in 3/4 cup water, 1/3 cup vinegar. Boil 1 minute. Stir in potatoes and crumbled bacon. |
