EASY FUDGE CAKE 
3 tbsp. shortening
2 sq. chocolate
1 c. sugar
1 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1 egg
1/4 c. sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. boiling water

I substitute can milk and sour/vinegar.

Melt shortening and chocolate together over hot water. Add the boiling water, remove from heat and add sugar, dry ingredients, which have been sifted together and add egg and sour cream. Beat well.

Add vanilla and beat until blended. Place batter in well greased 8 x 8 inch pan. Bake in moderate oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool. Cake in pan 5 minutes before removing. Frost - your favorite frosting.
