BUTTERMILK WHITE CAKE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 egg yolks
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Scant 2 cups flour, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. Beat 2 eggs whites stiff and fold into batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
