OH, SO EASY WHOLE CHICKEN 
1 whole broiler-fryer chicken
1 tbsp. salad oil
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. white cooking wine
1/2 c. soy sauce
1/4 c. water
2 cloves garlic, minced

Heat oil and butter in large heavy pan over medium high heat. Add whole chicken, brown well on all sides. Pour off fat. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over chicken. Cover pan. Cook on high heat just until steaming then turn to low heat. Cook for 30 to 40 minutes until meat is fork tender. Cut into serving pieces. Serve with pan juices. Serves 3 to 4.
