BRAN NUT BREAD 
2 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. Bran Flakes cereal
1 1/3 c. milk
2 eggs
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. shortening

Stir in flour, baking powder, soda, salt and sugar together. Mix flakes and milk together and let stand 2 minutes then add eggs and shortening and beat well. Stir in nuts. Add flour mixture, stirring until moistened. Spread into greased 9"x5"x3" loaf pan. Bake in oven at 350 degrees about 1 hour or until pick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes before removing from pan. Cool completely on wire rack before slicing.
