SYLLABUB 
1 lemon, juice and rind
2 glasses sherry or madeira
Sugar to taste
Whipping cream
Milk
2 egg whites

To the lemon, sherry or madeira and sugar, add one pint of whipping cream, 1/2 pint of sweet milk and whites of 2 eggs. Beat all together, serve in small china custard cups or medium sized glasses. Sprinkle grated nutmeg over top.
