AMISH CINNAMON BREAD
Day 1: Received Starter (do not refrigerate).

Day 2: Stir.

Day 3: Stir.

Day 4: Stir.

Day 5: Add:

1 c. sugar
1 c. flour
1 c. milk

Mix together.

Day 6: Stir.

Day 7: Stir.

Day 8: Nothing.

Day 9: Nothing.

Day 10: Add:

1 c. sugar
1 c. flour
1 c. milk

Mix together.

Separate 3 cups of mixture into 3 different containers. This will give you a start and you may share starter mix with 2 friends. To remaining mixture, add:

1 c. oil
1 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
4 eggs
1 sm. box vanilla instant pudding

Beat by hand. Then add:

1 c. raisins or apples (or both) (apples that cook up are best)
1 c. chopped nuts

Pour mixture into 2 greased loaf pans. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour.

Note: I prefer to use Granny Smith apples and leave out the raisins. My electric oven requires 15-20 more minutes baking time. You can tell by checking!

Hi Tara,

The recipe says to add the ingredients on day 5, but you can try adding them on day 6. If the mixture is a grey color and has stopped bubbling, start again. Be sure to sterilize the container the starter is in first.
