STEAK AND GRAVY | |
1 round steak or roast, cut Sprinkle of salt Black pepper 1/2 c. liquid shortening 1 med. onion, chopped Sprinkle salt and pepper over steak. Cut in serving pieces. Beat each side with the mouth of a Coke bottle to cube it. Roll in self-rising flour. Fry in shortening on medium heat. When all has been fried, pour off all grease. Cover steak with water. Start with high heat, then cut heat down to low. Cover. Cook down. Cover with water again. Cook down. Cover with water 3rd time. Add 1 chopped onion. Cook down to a gravy. |
