PFEFFERNUSSE 
2 1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 c. honey or syrup
1 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda in a little coffee
1 tsp. anise oil/extract
About 8 c. flour

Refrigerate overnight. Roll into small balls. Can flatten a little. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes. While still warm, roll in powdered sugar.
