GUMDROP COOKIES 
Do not use mint or black gumdrops.

1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup shortening (Crisco)
2 eggs, beaten
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup coconut flakes
1 1/2 cups quick-cooking oats
1 lb. gumdrops, chopped

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Cream together both sugars and shortening. Add eggs then flour, which has been mixed with salt, baking soda and baking powder. Next add vanilla then coconut flakes and quick-cooking oats. Last, stir in the gumdrops. Drop by spoonful onto a greased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350°F for 12 minutes.
